In this two-hour workshop, facilitated by expert Writing by Design writing coaches, teachers collaborate to align grading practices and expectations for student writing. Using a shared rubric, participants score student writing in a pre-selected genre. After comparing results, they establish consistency and create annotated anchor papers for each rubric level. The process ensures a clear, shared understanding of passing work and can be easily replicated across genres. For larger groups, two trainers can effectively facilitate multiple grade levels.
